So, I had a horrible monday and tues... my 2 dogs got into my dog food supply (They ate 56- 2.75oz rolls of NB beef and lamb "sausages") and were hospitalized from 7pm mon. June came home @ 4am, Blue had sodium toxicity and needed to stay over night and got transferred in the morning to our local vet. He came home @ 730 tonight. I'm still so very worried about both of them... he seems out of it a little, but I kNOW he's been though ALOT in the past 24 hrs, and June hasn't pooped... I fed them a little rice and need to monitor their H2O intake... I just hope they're not bound up now... Oh Lord help me... and help them!
The past 2 days have been VERY VERY stressful....All I could think about was the possiblilty of losing them.
Please my friends, say a prayer for my fur-babies. I know we're busy pulling for all our weimie friends, if you could just add 2 more names... Blue n June.
I'll post back very soon and keep you all updated.

Oh no! I can't believe what's all happening to our kids. I hope that B and J are doing great tomorrow for you. I've got a special prayer for these two tonight.
That's crazy that they were able to eat that much sausage! Sadie got a little overweight during the winter and she looked like a sausage... . That's what your story reminded me of. But all seriousness, I hope they are doing better. |

if they are anything like Grace it wont phase them one bit she ate a king size container of peanut butter and regurgitated it ALL night long...and as soon as she was feeling better she was ready for peanut butter in her kongs ASAP. if it were me I would have never eaten it again! |

Ok, so I spent the night on the floor with my boy (Yes I ahve a horrible backache but it's worth it to be with him at all times)
Junie-poonie seems almost 100%, her appetite is there though= she'ds getting limited quantities of food and water at a time... rice and just a little kibble. She's poo'd only 1x and it was very soft. Her face looks off, but as a whole i feel she's MUCH BETTER. She's home now with a fresh bowl of water and a decently "full" belly.
Blue boy went back to the vet today because I felt he'd get more attention there and I didnt want to risk him trying to jump on and off the sofa. He's still weak, but getting stronger. He ate his rice like a champ last night and then again some more this morning. He had a little stretch and went out on his own down the stairs to peeeeeee. He also felt spunky enuff to try to jump up on the bed by his da. I boosted his back up since he soemtimes doesn't make it up... He still seems abit out of it and his eyes dont look like him. I am hoping that he didnt have any perm. damage from the sodium... like brain swelling.
I called his er vet last night/1am to give him an update and he seemed happy w/ the numbers and progress.
The reg vet called this momrning and offered to "watch" Blue today and check his levels again.
When Chris dropped him off, he said Blue broke his heart... he called me in tears because Blue just sat down in fron tof the door to the kennels and refused to walk in. I know he'll be fine (better w/ a full day of attention) but it's so sad to them like this. And Blue is our heart; so he just breaks it with a look sometimes! Ya know?
Ok, so Thank YOU all for the prayers last night (And the phone call, Auntie Lynn... ) it ,means so much to us, I can't even begin to tell you (but I think you know that !!)
Let's have some good happy news about ALL or babies for a day or so....
We're still saying prayers for all the Weims on the D.L. I'm sure doG hears us!!!
I'll post back later when I hear from chris/vet this afternoon. |

I am so glad to hear that Blue and June are doing better. The little buggers had us all worried I am sure you are feeling better (minus the backache) with your babies back at home. I hope the road to recovery continues to be a smooth one.
Sending lots of doggy kisses from Bella and the boy with no name |

I'm sure your sleeping on the floor was a comfort to him.
I'm glad to hear that they're doing better. Hopefully Blue is just taking a bit longer, not that he has permanent damage. I didn't know that excess sodium could cause damage - yikes.
I'll keep them in my prayers too. |
