I just wanted to let you guys know that Canidae had changed/improved their formulas: http://www.canidae.com/new-formulas.html
In case if someone had just bought a new bag and noticed some changes in your dogs "bowl movements",that is why.

Thanks for posting this. Linkin really doesn't seem to want to eat his food. It started when I opened a new bag, but I don't know if it's even the "updated food" or the old stuff. Maybe it's just a coincidence that he became a "grazer" during this change. He went from eating 5-6 cups a day to about 3.

Thanks for the link. I just started feeding my guys this. They seem to be doing great on smaller portions than other foods I have tried. Both are healthy and both are satisfied and not begging for more. Well, maybe Sadie, but she's just a hog. Laughing

How old is Linkin now? Holly began eating alot less too over the last 2 months. She went from 4-5 cups a day down to 2 1/2 cups a day.

He will be a year on July 28. Last time we checked he weighed 70 pounds. I should check him again to make sure he's not losing weight.

Do his eating habits seem normal for his age? Or should I try a different kind of food?

My friends Vizsla only eats 2 cups a day. They just eat less as they get older I guess. You should be able to tell just by looking at him if he's getting too thin. I wouldn't worry to much at this point. If he stays at a nice size by only eating 3 cups a day that would be good. Wink

It wouldn't hurt to switch up his food every now and again though, that would be a good idea. Very Happy

I also saw a thread on another forum that canidae is "outsourcing" some production/materials to DIAMOND. I think they had major issues before all the recalls last year from mold and such... just an fyi...
