So I'm fostering Bo for about 2 months now, and although I got most of his other issues under control, his behavior towards my children has not improved at all. Most times they walk by him, he lunges and mouths/nips them.
HELP!!!

| Wrench pretty much has become trained to roll over for a belly rub now with kids because he would try to jump but we would restrain him to settle him down and when you do that he always rolls over so now he is kinda trained for it! |

Last night, Bo bit Nathan's little friend that was here. I am so unbelievably stressed! Thankfully, he did not break the skin, but it was a bad enough bite that all front teeth left marks and he will be badly bruised.
I tried all day yesterday to get in touch with the rescue coordinator, without results. I finally found a business card of another volunteer that I met at the trainers a month ago, so I called her and she set up another meeting with the trainer for today.
I don't know what to do.... |

I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time with Bo... I wish I had some good advice, but I'm new to this whole fostering thing too... I hope everything works out... please keep us posted! |

Well, they just called me a bit ago and they are removing him today. Please pray that he gets the training he needs.
Poor Bo, if those (insert expletives here) would've taken time with him as a puppy, he wouldn't be in this mess right now. I'm so angry. |

Well, the kids and I dropped off Bo at the trainer's yesterday. It was weird, there was no chance for a goodbye or one last belly rub. The way it was handled was especially hard on the kids. I'm so frustrated with this rescue. I don't expect any sort of recognition or anything, but I thought at least an email or phone call saying that he will be taken care of or something. I feel like I left him in limbo.
I'm so mad that they did not answer any of my pleas. I really think that if they could've gotten me/him the necessary help, then he would've never bitten.
Please, anyone that is involved in rescue, don't take on more than you can handle. It may seem like the more you take on, the more good you're doing. But that may not be the case. If volunteers are not given the support needed in order to train, socialize and make these dogs adoptable, odds are that volunteers will be lost and dogs will continue to stay in the system.
Prayers for Bo |

I'm sorry to hear this... I pray Bo's getting the PROPER training now and not left to flounder and get bounced around until something severe happens!
Thank you for trying to help rescue Bo |

I feel the very same way about Sabriel... I could really use some advice, and have 2 e-mails out... with no response... |

not a "real" website, but...
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/OH207.html
I know they are trying and they do care, but, there is still more to be done once a dog is placed in foster care. IMHO. |

Yeah, and he's also been listed as pending for about a month.
It's a shame. I know MWR won't take him at this point. I wonder if any other weim rescues would take him? |

Do you think they listed him as pending because they thought you were going to keep him or is that their way of getting someone to hurry up and adopt him? He is a beautiful boy. I wish Indian was closer. I bet I could convince him to take him.... |
