just got home from my bender.. poor Allan had to sleep with a wet pillow and doona all night. She's still drooling and I think she has a fever - will try and get a temp in a bit (she feels quite hot and is shivering)
I'll go in and take a nap with her for a while and when I get up I'll get her down to the vet.
If it was bloat, it would have been more than drooling by now yeah? she hasn't touched much of her dinner still so I am going to go with the feeling nauseous. Man I wish dogs could talk.
I haven't been able to check her poops yet.
hmm.. my strange little weimy.
Does anyone have Dr House's number? maybe I'll call him and see if he has a diagnosis for my girl.

I hope Ruby is doing better!

Just a thought - did you check her mouth, gums and teeth? See if there is anything she may have chewed on between her teeth? Something wedged between teeth on the roof of her mouth? A broken tooth? That sort of thing?

Ruby, Ruby, please get better soon!

Hi Guys,
She's had a high grade fever since this morning and the vet confirmed this. Her bloods came back normal. She started bleeding from her eye again when we were down there. They said her fever is causing the excessive drooling. It was quite funny waiting - noone wanted to sit next to the dopey drooling puppy!! She's still really dopey, sad and clingy, won't touch her food unless I spoon feed it to her (I had to get her meds in somehow!) but other than that, I'm just letting her sleep. They don't know if it's related to her bleeding - but said the probability was more than likely.
They still want to go ahead with the surgery. But because she's been having a few days of clear urine before it turns back to blood they would like to see if this is going to continue and gradually lengthen in duration (clear urine) and frequency.
Anyway they have basically said that after surgery there is nothing more their practice can do for Ruby and have referred me to Sydney specialists..

Poor Ruby Sad Sad I really hope they get this figured out. I can't imagine how much you must be worrying about her. When are they going to do the surgery?

surgery will have to wait another fortnight so I can still monitor her pees a bit longer and she can get rid of whatever bugs she's got that are making her sick!!

Oh, no -- another two weeks! That seems like a long time. Do you have to wait for the surgery before you can see the specialist? Or is that what you prefer? If the bugs aren't gone now.. if they are still hanging around in two weeks will you have to wait again? I'm sorry - this must all be so frustrating for you.

I hope that Ruby does start feeling better -- and having normal pee all the time -- very soon.

Wait, wasn't Ruby diagnosed with HOD??? Or was that someone else?? Duh. Cause if she has HOD she may be having an episode, The joint pain would cause fever and nausea and she would be lethargic.

I'm pretty sure the bleeding is a separate issue, but you never know.

What is the surgery for? Exploratory? I would be a little concerned about a dog that is having bleeding/clotting issues having surgery of any kind. If she were one of mine Ange I would give up on your vet and go straight to the specialist, this is going on for far too long and everything seems to be escalating on a daily basis. Do you have her insured???

Sending get better vibes to Rubydoo. xxx
