The Missing Link supplement was mentioned in a post yesterday and by chance at the dog park yesterday.
I have a few questions for those of you who use it...
* Do you feed the suggested 3 tsp (40-80 lbs dogs)?
* Do you feed it split or once a day?
* It's high fiber so did you see any side effects when you first started (even if added gradually)?
* How long did it take to notice a change in your dog?
* Anything you'd like to add about it?
* Oh and if you don't mind what do you usually pay for it?
THANKS in advance! |

Hi! Ok Ill do my best to answer for you based on my experience.
* Do you feed the suggested 3 tsp (40-80 lbs dogs)?
She usually gets 2-3 tsp a day. She is 64 lbs
* Do you feed it split or once a day?
I give Grace 1-1.5 tsp mixed in with her kibble 2x's a day.
* It's high fiber so did you see any side effects when you first started (even if added gradually)?
Well I dont know if the high in fiber thing is what fixed her poop or what. She was a dog that constantly had diarrhea and soft poos. She NEVER EVER in 2.5 years had firm poo and almost immediately after starting Missing Link she had firm solid normal poo (and has consistently for the past 5 months shes been on it). I dont know if this was a side effect of the fiber or some other ingredient but I am sure it was from the missing link. My family and I all call it "Miracle Powder" because of this side effect LOL
* How long did it take to notice a change in your dog?
Well I initially put Grace on it to because I heard it was great for their joints. I do agility with Grace so I figured it wouldnt hurt to start her on a supplement while she was young rather than wait until she had issues to introduce it to her. She didnt have joint issues before starting it so I cant say anything about effects it had on that...but it took less than 24 hours to effect her poo!
* Anything you'd like to add about it?
I recommended it to by boss because his black lab has a very bad hind leg from an injury at a young age. His dog is picky and refused to eat it. Grace loves it and will lick the bottom of her dish to get every last bit. So if you have a picky dog you might have to get creative with how to get them to eat it.
Also be careful when you order online...make sure you are getting the CANINE forumula and not EQUINE lol. I now have a 5lb bag of equine formula missing link (although I called the company and the only difference is its a vegetarian version so its still ok for her to eat).
* Oh and if you don't mind what do you usually pay for it?
I get 5lbs of the missing link plus formula (plus has extra ingredients specifically for joints and digestion).
The first time time I purchased it I spent 45.95 plus @ $7 shipping for a 5lb Missing Link Plus Canine formula.
The Equine formula of Missing was $30 something LOL I was wondering why I got such a discount |

| Thank you for the info. I picked some up today and gave him a bit tonight since it said to start slow -- that's where I referred to the side effect because it sounded like too much too soon would = loose stool. I didn't shop around for this initial trail but the 1 lb was $20 CAN + taxes. |
