Marty is currently being fostered at a volunteers house. I spoke with her and she said he is yet another weim that was surrendered because he became too much for his family Rolling Eyes

I spoke with his owner as well, going back to school and does not want to leave alone...

I just started to volunteer for the Texas group and we have so many weims right now - 38 in need of forever homes, 13 who need a foster, let alone a forever home, and I'm transporting a blue female from a shelter on Friday before they put her down. I know other rescues are just as full as we are

If you know anyone in Texas looking to adopt, or be a foster home, send them to our website. http://www.weimrescuetexas.org/

All the rescues are just overwhelmed right now.

Anyone who can help, please do so.

We are actually looking at a weim at WRNT...Cassanova. My husband was perusing the site and came across him. He came in with his female companion who did not make it after they got to rescue. With us (and Bella) losing our little man and him losing his girl it's seems like it might be the perfect fit all around. We did not intend to adopt again right away but, it almost seems meant to be...

Have you contacted WRNT about him and gone through the application process? I would love to see him get a forever home!!

Welches,

I have. I am just waiting for my landlord to send me a document stating that I am allowed to have large dogs. As soon as I can get that I will get to speak with an adoption coordinator.

Do you know anything about Cassanova? Have you interacted with him?

I just looked up his profile. WOW, Cassanova is a pretty boy. Long legs on that man! He sounds like the perfect fit for you guys! Good luck!

kjnewk - Well, I'm afraid I have some good and bad news. The good and the bad is that Cassanova is going to his forever home tomorrow - he's already been placed. WOOHOO for him, but not for you guys. I REALLY hope that there is another dog that we have that you would think about adopting. I'm sorry Cassanova didn't work out.

Welches - that's wonderful for him!! If we can't have him, I am glad that he has found a forever home. I know it can be hard to place the older dogs so, I am really happy for him.

Like I said before, we did not necessarily plan to adopt right away so, maybe it just was not meant to be. I will definitely look at the other dogs though and see if there is another one that might work for our family.

Will you please let me know though if for any reason his new home does not work out?

Thanks!
Kristie

Hi Kristie! I will definitely let you know if Cassanova doesn't work out. I actually get to meet him tomorrow. I just started volunteering for the rescue, so this is my first transport. Cassanova is in Dallas, but his forever home is in Houston. I am picking up a blue female from a Houston shelter who is going to Dallas and meeting another volunteer halfway to switch dogs, so then I will deliver Cassanova to his new home. Keep checking our site Smile Even if it's just to help us with shelter dogs we don't yet know about. There are so many weims out there that need a home or are in shelters it's hard to find them all Crying or Very sad
