It looks like what Yukon had a month or so ago. At first I thought it was a bug bite but then it got bigger, redder and looked more like a big, red wart. Anyway, we went to the vet and had it removed. She was able to give him a local and remove it while I waited. He had a few stitches. She sent it off and it wasn't cancerous, but it was a histiocytoma. Sometimes they go away but his just got worse.

I waited about 3 to 4 weeks hoping it would get better. It didn't change for about 3 weeks but then we left for vacation and when we got back it had gotten much worse so I took him the next day. I think it cost about $30 to remove it but another $30 to send it to the lab. My vet didn't know what it was when she saw it and was only going to remove a piece of it to send off, thinking Yukon would have to be put under to remove the entire thing, but when she took him in the back and numbed it, she was able to remove the whole thing.

Can't tell from the picture but if it has a opening/hole in the middle it could be a warble (blow fly larvae). Bunker had something like that and they thought it was a warble luckily it turned out to be a tick head that broke off and got infected. It reacted well to a topical cream or it would have $ some money to get it removed.
