|
|
| I need some advice. I switched both my weims to canidae about 2 months ago. All was going very well!! Then about 2 weeks ago both my weims are having runny stool and their stomachs seem very upset. So I called the company. They were very nice and they told me they did just recently changed the ingredients for the better. The food could be just to rich for them for a couple of days. I have waited it out for 2 weeks now and some days they are fine and other days they have runny stool. I only feed them 3 cups a day, so I don't want to decrease the amount at all. What is everyones advice? I want to be on a higher quality food. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?? Please help!! |

I don't have any advice, unfortunately.
We also feed Canidae (chicken & rice formula), but haven't noticed any change lately... |

| We had similar issues with Bella and Ivan after about the same amount of time on Canidae. I ended up switching them back to EVO... They both were actually vomiting in the evenings almost like they couldn't digest it... |

| Interesting. Linkin hasn't seemed to like his food very much lately. He went from a gobbler to a grazer and he doesn't eat as much as he used to. It actually started when we bought a new bag. I wonder what they changed? |

| They told me the change was with more meat. More rich. For the better. If it's for the better, I don't understand why my weims systems seem they can't handle it! |

| My guys are on All Life Stages. I haven't noticed anything...but we got a new bag yesterday...oh the price went up. From $36 to $43. Still pretty reasonable to me. |

| Before EVO, I used ProPlan which worked relatively well but, both dogs had itchy eyes and red itchy feet. |

Do you add any joint supplements to their diets?
The only think I dont like about the EVO is that it is lacking glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate.
What are your thoughts? |

| It could just be that particular food doesn't work with your dogs' systems. Are they still having the runny poo? |

| Still watching. They seem fine with one meal, but I can't just feed them 1 1/2 cups a day! I think Sammy is fine now, but Lucy still is having problems after 2 meals a day. Still giving it time!! I just bought a smaller bag just in case I have to switch to something different. Thanks guys for the support and helpful feed back!! |

Grace always had runny stools after eatting and she eats high quality food (Flint River Ranch Trout and Potato and the Lamb and Millet). I started adding Missing Link Plus powder to her food...just for her joints bc I heard such great things about it. Well I dont know what its doing for her joints but it also has something in it that made Grace have firm solid stools for the first time since I got her at 8 weeks old.
Shes 3..and the past 4-5 months shes consistently had solid poop!!! The entire 2.5 years before that she NEVER had them.
So maybe try adding some missing link |

| update.... Lucy is still having runny stools, so I emailed canidae and they suggested to try all life stages or the chicken in rice formula because the lamb and rice is the most rich. They eel it might be to rich for her. Sammy is now fine of coarse. I also put a call in to my doctor (vet) to see what he thinks I should do. I should here from him tomorrow. Thanks again everyone for the support! I let you know what happens. |

| I heard canidae was sold to Diamond foods, since its going to be introduced to larger chain stores, I hope things dont turn for the worst like with other foods. |
