| Hello all, my name is Jeremy and my family and I just got our first beautiful Weimaraner. He is 8 weeks old, and his name is Norrin. I've raised Akitas, but never a Weim. If there is any advice or suggestions you could offer I would greatly appreciate it. Thanx |

Welcome! Weims are great family dogs!
They're extremely affectionate but have tons of energy. But when you're not there they get upset and destructive. Just remember, the more exercise they get, the better behaved they are. |

How are you teaching him come? It's easy if you start with a lead on him. And just be consistent!!!! They are extremely smart dogs and will usually learn just about anything you want them to if you are consistent with them. Be patient with your puppy |

| We are actually in a training club here in Ohio. They told us when we started taking our puppy that "come" is something that will take the longest to teach a very solid "come". They say not to tell the dog to come if you are not willing to go and get them to correct the issue if they don't come because then you are allowing them to pick and choose when to follow your commands. I hope that helps a little? Best of luck! |
