i am at work, and i just read your post. i can't stop crying because i know how hard it must be. only dog owners know that losing a dog is just like losing a family member. i wish i could tell you something to make you feel better, but there are no words. i am so sorry. you know that if we all lived closed, we would all be there for you, hugging you and crying next to you. who owns a weimaraner can understand how speical this dogs are, unique. i am always scared of the blotaing "monster". it's not your fault, there is nothing you could have done. please don't blame your self, because it will be even harder on you. i am so so sorry. i loved kam sotire and his goofy face. i send you lot of hugs to you and your family. you know we are all here for you. we know what you are going through.

i'm very sorry to hear about KAM.
i know what you're feeling, since I lost my best friend not a month ago...
the only thing that keeps me still is Gandalf, the puppy! of course he doesnt replace my cocker, my babe, but it's not supposed too.. but it eases the pain and make me think about something else...
me and my family are with you.. by the way, how does kids going? are they handling it? mine is almost 3 years old and passed softly... everyday she talks about richie... I said, richie is in heaven with jesus and she says it a lot.. also thinks and talks often how she loves him and that "tomorrow richie will kiss me and play with me"... it's so painful to listen to this...

I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. Kam is such a handsome boy and I can tell through your words that he is dearly loved.

I know exactly the pain that you feel, I lost a beloved cat on Wednesday (to an unexpected illness) and my world is in pieces right now. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May time heal the hurt.

Today's a little bit better - one day at a time, I guess. The kids are doing better and Sean is too. But I just, I don't know, I just feel like I need to go sit by him and love on him awhile, and then the tears start again. The void is unreal. I know within a few days when I think about his doofy look, or the strings of drool hanging off of those floppy lips of his, I'll be able to smile. I'm just not able to do that today yet. I still can't get over the fact that he's not coming back.

Sean wants to keep Bo and so do the kids. But of course, big mean mommy says NO. The kids want to keep him because he's here and he's a distraction, and Sean thinks he's a good dog. And I know he's a good dog, but I don't think he belongs to us. I don't want to keep him for the wrong reasons. Right now, I'm thinking that when Bo gets adopted, we'll foster again. Maybe through fostering we'll find another "perfect fit".

Thanks again for all your kind words.

awww well just take things one day at a time. Don't make any decisions yet you don't have to. Everything re: Bo will fall into place the way it's meant to.

Amy:
before we got Blue, we lost our non-Weim. Our first baby togther. Every night after work, I came home and watched videos and looked at pictures and cried my eyes out. I felt like a childless mother. Empty and hollow. Slowly, by visiting Casey in the yard, we started to heal. Then we started to entertain the thought of another dog. And then Blue found us. I swear he rescued us as much as we rescued him. The right dog will find you, when you are ready. In the meantime, caring for Bo is the right thing to do until he finds his new family. And who knows, It may end up being you?
We still go out to Casey's corner of our yard and talk to her and B n J can sense her. Last night we were watching Groomer Has it and the one guy was talking about losing his dog recently and he said you NEVER GET OVER THEM, you just get used to them no longer being there. I totally agree. I dont think you're supposed to "get over it". In time, I beleive your heart will heal. Dont rush yourself. Take time to reflect and take care of yourself (and your family). And remember, we're here when you need us!

doG Bless you.

I know you don't think Bo is the right fit for you and that is o.k. But he will bring you comfort. These are the smartest and most sensitive dogs. He knows you are hurting. So does G. Last night when I was reading all the posts about Kam, I was crying my heart out. Jake got up on the couch and just laid his head in my lap. And the three young dogs were just all laying on the floor around me. I told them all about Kam.

The four send nuzzlies and snugglies to you and your family.

Amy, Don't feel bad for being the "mean mom" that said no to Bo. If he's not the forever dog, that's okay! Trust me. Sometimes animals come into your life just when you need them and then when you've made it over that hump they find their next home. I feel that is what Bo is here for you now. We foster dogs and I have to say that each dog I do want to keep but its funny how they can teach us and help us move along in our lives by just being with us for a little while. Bo will find the perfect home soon enough, but right now he's here to comfort you and your family. I hope the days do become a little easier for you. Kam was just one of the most beautiful weims I have ever seen, he was lucky to have you for a loving family!

I am so so sorry for your loss. Kam was such a beautiful boy.

I am in tears. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

When our Simon passed away last summer, I couldn't understand why or how it could have happened.

I look back now and try to believe that Simon knew that Gunther needed us more than he...I guess it just makes my heart feel better.
