God don't blame yourself!
What was it someone said on here? Wiems are angels god lets us barrow for a short time? So fitting.
When you guys are up to it, please adopt another, treat him/her as good as you did Kam.
So sorry to hear this. |

I am so sorry for your loss. I live in fear of bloat. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. These dogs are our family, when we lose one of them it is like losing a member of the family. I will be thinking of you guys.

| Amy, I'm so so sorry still. Words are just never enough. I wish we all could just gather with you and comfort you and your family. Remember all the great times with Kam(the watchdog) and keep in mind he'll always watch over you. |

Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes. It means so much - funny how a bunch of people I never met in person, can bring so much comfort to me and my family. We all truly appreciate it.
I know time will help heal, but right now I feel so defeated, or cheated. It's incredibly hard - yesterday morning was the last day of school for the girls...Kam's last time giving them their "wake up kisses". The last time me and the girls teased him and rubbed his belly, instead of getting ready for school. Never thought it'd be the last time. I know it's cliche, but really, enjoy everyday as if it's your last.
Here's a few recent photos of Kam and Bo (Kam is the tall, dark and handsome one ):

I just loved him. He was so damn handsome... and even though all Weims look kind of alike, somehow he was really unique looking. There was just something about him - he definitely stood out. Thanks for posting these pics. We are all grieving with you. |

I am so sorry for your loss...
Just about a year ago, a long time very good friend of mine lost a young Great Dane to bloat. She had rescued him only a few months earlier. She felt her heart had been torn out and broken. I imagine this time is no less difficult for you. It's never easy losing someone we love, I think when it is so sudden it is especially hard.
What did console her and help to mend her heart was another Dane in need of rescue. No one, animal or human, can be replaced -- but this was a very important part of her healing process.
I hope that the wonderful pictures you have of Kam and the even more wonderful memories will continue to bring some joy to you, along with the knowledge that because of you and your family Kam knew he was loved and that he was a deserving and special Weim. He will always be in your heart.... |
