Oh yeah, mine can clear a room in a matter of seconds! It's totally normal, but the frequency and severity can be controlled with diet. I've noticed that if my dogs get a canned food that has a fatty meat then they have much worse gas. It's sort of like people, greasy foods can make their stomach grumble. They still have BAD gas, but not nearly as often or as potent once I figured out what in their diet was making it worse.

Gulping air while eating or drinking can be a cause as well.

KD had the worst gas!!! I had to stop giving her peanut butter every day. It was giving her the worst gas, but it has stopped or slowed down since I switched the peanut butter. She gets the stuff from Kong now and it causes less gas, at least, in KD.

We used to have to keep bailey out of the room when we had visitors because of his gas, then he got bloat and we nearly lost him, on the recommendation of the vet I began soaking his kibble before feeding and hey presto his gas vanished too!
