I'm writing weimdawgs in regard to an older post made about Gunnar. You mentioned you had gotten him from Gentryville Kennels in Drury, Missouri.
I just adopted my second Weim from Northern California Weimaraner Rescue. Her name is Hannah and she was born 09/06. I was looking through the paperwork I got with her and found a small animal health certificate from the State of Missouri. It stated the owner was Lisa Copeland and she was located in Drury, Missouri.
When I did a Google search it came up with a note you wrote 09/07 in regard to finding any of Gunnar's brothers or sisters. I thought it too much of a coincidence that Hannah was born in Drury, Missouri. It doesn't seem to be too large of an area. But I can't seem to locate Gentryville Kennels.
I'm still trying to get more information from Hannah's original owners. But I thought you might be interested that Hannah may be related to Gunnar. |

I can't believe I missed this post!!!! Thanks, Gail!!!
Yes, Gunnar was purchased from Lisa Copeland. He was born on Sept. 1, 2005. His mother is Lady Liberty and his father is Tracy's Armand Ken.
I know that Gunnar's mother had a litter around that time where all the pups but one female died....I wonder if that is Hannah. Lisa Copeland had purchased a blue male to stud and mated him with Libby. I don't remember if the surviving pup was a blue or not.
She is not the most reputable of breeders but I bought Gunny anyway..it's a long story. But lets see if we can find out if they are related. Please let me know what you find out from her original owners.
Please post some pictures of Hannah when you can.
This is Gunnar..

Hannah is not quite a blue, but darker than my male Bo. I haven't had an opportunity to speak with the original owners lately but I will attempt to contact them and find out more information. I know Hannah is registered with the UKC and I intend to have them transfer her paperwork into my name. Hopefully that will also help me find out more about her as well.
I'm not certain how to post photos in this forum. I tried for a little while to no avail. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm so glad you saw my post. Please let me know what you find out. I am going to e-mail Lisa to see if Libby is her mom. She'll know from the welping date.
I am willing to bet she is. She told me Libby was retiring after her last litter that was sometime last year.

| I too, have a female from Lisa Copeland's breeding...I DID NOT purchase her from Lisa but rather her next owner as a 2 yr old. She is absolutely fabulous. However, at the time I purchased her, she had no clue as to what a collar was, a treat, a leash much less how to walk on one and it took 3 of us to get her into the car. She is 5 (whelped 6/5/03)now and the matriarch of the Weim family...I believe Lisa is no longer breeding AKC Weims, I know she had gone to ACA, so I am surprised that she reg'd with UKC? ....My females sire was Walnut Ridge's Duke x Bensings Tasha. I do have an extended pedigree available that I would be happy to forward to anyone with an interest. |
