Hi guys, I found some interesting info about our wonderful breed that I thought I would share Smile . It came from http://www.fastdirectory.net/weims/1.htm,

Tracking

A natural sport for the Weimaraner, it is almost like cheating! A naturally keen nose and hunting instinct make this a perfect sport for a dog with a hound heritage. All you need to do is keep up!

Erin,
I knew you had gone out there to meet with Leslie and talk about a pup, I am glad you are getting one... I would love to get a dog from her. When will you be getting your grey baby?

She is planning a field trial litter for the spring (and a show litter as well I think) . . . so I am hoping by summer. I am the first on the list, I think that is good news. I don't think Anja will be nearly as excited as I will be, but she'll adapt!

Yep, Leslie says the field trial pups tend to be smaller adults. Anja is small, such a nice size, I'd really like another about her size. The dad will be Lil' Sage Ryder from Westend Kennels. She says he tends to throw smaller pups. Smile

I am so happy for you... westend has great field dogs. I take Ridd there for kenneling and the owners are super great people. I would like one day(if Ridd ever gets past this terrible teen stage) to get one of their dogs also.

My Pixy is loosely linebred on Ryder (has him on both sides of her pedigree). Get ready for a real nice field pup!! He is one of the greats in our breed. Yes, he's small and throws small, but his conformation is really quite good for a field dog. I love that dog.
