About three days ago I was given a weimaraner. The lady said they thought she was 4 years old, and that the daog was given to them by someone else who lived in an apartment and had her in a kennal all day. I have read a little about her( her name is Piper), but I think she might have been abused. I think her age is more like 1 1/2. She looks like her bottom teeth are still growing, and is still very clumsy. She is spayed, but I am wondering why she jumps on my leg and tries to pro-create with my leg. She is a very loving and affectionate dog, I just have no idea what I need to do.

If she is humping your leg, that is dominance.

Start now with NILIF (nothing in life is free). Here is a link to read about it: http://k9deb.com/nilif.htm

You have to establish that you are alpha.

Do you have any experience with Weims?

Well, yeah to put it that way, yes she is humping my leg. Thank you, I am going to read it. No, I have never owned one before, so this is a new expierence for me. I have found out that they are like no other breed. I had a lab for 11 years, and know how to train them, but Piper is so very different from a lab. She acts very strange sometimes, which lead me to think she might have been neglected or abused.

How does she act? Can you be more specific? We may have experienced the same thing. Wink
