Hi guys, I found some interesting info about our wonderful breed that I thought I would share Smile . It came from http://www.fastdirectory.net/weims/1.htm,

Agility

Agility is probably one of the best inventions ever created for a Weimaraner. Fast! Exuberant! Fun! And Energetic! All Weimaraner skills. The the only problem this breed has with this fun sport is being able to go slow enough.

I started agility lessons with my female weim. Agility is perfect for weims. She would get so excited as soon as we hit the gravel road and barn area we trained in. We were constantly getting in trouble for excessive noise when we arrived at the barn. I had to use a bark collar on her. Then unfortunately she was the biggest dog training and learnt the different routines very quickly. This in turn meant we started spending more time as bench warmers (sitting on the bench watch the little fur balls run routines).
My question being does anyone know of any weim agility training in the Oregon, USA?
Thanks

I have not heard of a Weim-specific agility club in the area. The most well known agility club in Oregon is the Columbia Agility Team
http://www.columbiaagility.org/. Most of their training is either in Wilsonville or Forest Grove. Anja did CAT for a while. She loved practice, but hated the large, noisy competition environment. So we moved on. But the trainers were great. They have a list of other trainers in the Oregon area on their website that you might find helpful as well. Have fun!

It is great to hear of other weims doing agility! Scout just started agility this spring. We have finished a foundation class and are a couple of weeks into a beginning class. Weims are so athletic and Scout loves it. I think agility has been really good for her because she is very timid with people and has not been able to pass CGC because of this. Agility really has helped to build her confidence and she get's sooo excited when she sees the practice field. We plan to start entering some competitions later this summer and hope to see some other weimaraners out there!!! Smile

http://www.columbiaagility.org/.
The Columbia agility club was where I connected with a trainer for agility classes. The trainer we connected with was outstanding, but preferred smaller dogs. The truth be told I'm the one that needs the training not her. But I did find some videos and training books to help me come up to speed. I’ve also found plans on erecting an agility course on the net and equipment I can buy, tunnels, ramps etc. I think I have a summer project… thanks for replying – appreciate it.
