I tried two different kind of 'leader' harnesses for sasha, read the instructions, watched the dvd and still she couldn't stand it. The vet recommended it, so I tried again and again.. it just didn't work for us, but some people love them. The trainer put Sasha on a prong collar and it works great for us. Even my 9 year old son can walk her now. She doesn't "complain" about it. |

I have this, but hadn't used it for my super puller. I think I'll try it out now. Thanks! Probably wouldn't have given it a shot if it wasn't for your post. |

| I agree with some of the other posts-some dogs do fine with it and some don't. It's the only thing that worked with Zane. I tried the prong collar and it seemed to make him angry and he pulled harder than ever and kept laying down, which scared me because I thought it would hurt him. Initially he didn't like the gentle leader but now he knows that he needs to sit down and be still to have it put on before he can go in the front yard or in the car. There is an obnoxious little girl down the road that always yells about 'that big dog with the muzzle must be mean', and has told me that he has 'crazy looking eyes', but we just ignore her. |

Cache is doing really well with it. He only pulls a bit over all but he actually seems to like it and sat really nicely for me to put it on him earlier. I tried it on Josie too. She did okay-- not as good as with the prong collar, but she has a big cut on her side right now and the harness sits really close to it, so I am going to wait until that heals to try it on her again.
Thanks for recommending it! |
