Diesel is a little over 5 months old and I have looked in several places to find out how old will he be when he is considered full grown? He is getting big so fast but he wont cooperate with me and sit on the scale at just the right time. It is digital and keeps saying error. I swear he feels like he is at least 200 when he lands on me but I am sure it is more close to 50 I was told not to take him running until he was at least 18 mo of age so is that when they stop growing? |

From what I have seen here and been told by my breeder, around 2 years old is when you'll have a pretty concrete "what you see is what you get" final size.

I have a digital scale too, here a trick, but it gets harder and harder the more they grow- Butler weighs 70 lbs and I still do this ( my poor back) weight your self and then, pick up ( yes pick up) your dog and weigh yourself while holding him. It actually very accurate, and that way they cant wiggle off!

All of the Petsmarts in my area have a scale in the store in front of the vet clinic inside the store-you might check that out. Once Zane knew how to sit it made it much easier to weigh him and now he's used to it so it goes fine-I weigh him every couple of weeks.

I weigh mine at pertsmart too. He knows that's the first spot in the store we go to so he runs over, stops at the vet counter to say hello (gets a treat) and then jumps on the scale (and gets another treat).
