so, i wear a 2 inch safety pin on my slippers around the house (to tell mine apart from Cass's).. when i take them off, they are in a room behind a baby gate. had em on all morning.. just noticed that one of the pins are missing, and am petrified that Hooch ate it.. i am very careful to Hooch proof his safe rooms.. the other spaces are gated..
how will i know? what can i do? he is eating/pooping/ acting normal and i don't see anything in his mouth or throat.. he is always always supervised.. except K is home from school today, so i left Hooch out of his crate while i showered.. K promises he watched him..
really.. i can't find the pin anywhere in the house.. the vet won't xray him unless he is "symptomatic"..
what should i do? |

Wow! That's scary! I'm sorry you are having to go through that. I would say to feed him a little extra to maybe cushion the pin if he did swallow it. You could also put a little Veggie oil in the food to help make it slide through his track (also good to help clean the track). But beyond that just watch for him to hunch his back or make any wimpering sounds. I wouldn't take him for a walk or rough play until you know for sure, just in case. Good luck! And, I know it's hard, but try not to get to freaked out. Let us know how things work out.

I have heard of giving them metamucil to form a barrier around whatever it is but you will have to watch for frequent bathroom trips.
I am so sorry...hope you find it elsewhere. |

 6 eyes are better than 2.. we all got down on the floor and searched every morsel of the house and found an opened safety pin in the bathroom by where the tub meets the floor in the corner, behind the door..
thank goodness!!!
i now initialed my slippers on the inside and removed the other safety pin.. so much for being punk rock with the hush puppies  |
