Yippee!!! We did it! Topper took Winners Dog at the Northstar Weimaraner Specialty in Lake Elmo MN on Friday, and is now a Champion!!! Yeah!

| A special is a finished show champion. They will compete in best of breed competitions for points to be on the Top 10. Usually only the nicer dogs go on to special. As an example, Riley, though he is a show Ch, is certainly NOT a special. |

| Well any show champion can, but whether he is competitive or not is a different issue. It's exensive to special a dog so most owners will assess their dog critically and make that decision. |

Yes, I am going to special him. I think he is a competitive dog and he truly loves to show. I wish we had more competition in the area, but, as I special him, we can also work on his CD.
His picture will be in the WCA magazine for his win on Friday, so you all can see him then, and I'll probably run an ad for him to in the coming months. I dont know if I'll make the deadline for the October issue because I highly doubt I'll have this pic back in time.
Thank you all, we are both thrilled that he finished and we have both learned so much in the ring. I know I've learned ten times what Topper has, he always seemed to know what to do. I look forward to titling him in other areas, and hopefully raising up another puppy to show next summer. I just need to find the right pup. |

Topper is gorgeous, I'm glad you are going to special him! Even sweeter that he was amateur handled to his show CH! Gotta love that!
Don't think you'll make the Oct deadline, you have to get ads in 1.5 months ahead of time.
Anyway, congrats again, I am thrilled for you, and I am going to indulge in saying - I KNEW he would finish easily!

Thank you Anne. Yes, you've been saying he would finish easy for a time now. Thanks for all your support.
We'll talk about puppies. I'm still at a loss as to a good litter. I'm always open to new possibilities, especially since there are some areas I just don't want to compromise. |
