heather and i went up to the western specialty in seattle yesterday. the main event was the futurity/maturity classes and there was also a rally. i REALLY enjoyed watching it. it was really great to see a bunch of weims together and really compare the differences between individual ones. heather and i made comments even though we really didn't know much about what we were talking about!
it was funny because there were random people who would come up to me and say, "oh is this schroeder? i came over to see him and say hello!" and i know that is because of all the connections between his breeder and the sire's breeders. i also met the breeder who got me in touch with schroeder's breeders, and other people who were interested in him because of the breeding. everyone loved him and said he was looking really great which made me feel better about hoping to show him. we also met woody, his dad, and mara, woody's person. woody is gorgeous and has such a beautiful head and face! i really liked mara. she took a picture of father and son and will send that to me. i'll post it when i get it.
i was hoping to have been able to stay up there and go today too as today as the big day with all the different classes—also, one of schroeder's brothers was supposed to be there today. but heather was leaving this morning to go on her vacation. next year i plan on going the whole time as it will be schroeder's futurity. |
