FYI.. i bought this for Hooch, because i was hesitant to use a choke/prong/halti on a puppy, and the changing direction thing was making us all dizzy, but we were def. making SOME progress as long as we were walking up the street.. as soon as we went into town, or petsmart, or anywhere with lots of smells.. off he went pulling.. i was afraid he was going to hurt his little neck, so i purchased this harness.. there is actually a weim in the advertisement.. anyway, today was day 1 and i must say it has reduced his pulling by about 80% already..
he doesn't seem to mind it at all.. so if anyone is looking for an alternative, i think this may be a good one. it is available on line or you can purchase it in store at petsmart..
do any of Hooch's friends use this for walks? |

| I may have to give one a try. At the moment we use a halti and it works great. But Cooper hates it. He is forever rubbing his face and he is just kinda depressed when he has it on. Maybe something like this that doesn't rub his face will work just as well and he won't hate it as much. |

| I used one for about 6 months and she out grew it... I bought the next size up and it is too big... so i bought i regular harness and it works well too. I'm waiting for her to grow into the next one. I love the sporn mesh harnesses!! She walks much better and I can control her even when she is excited. |

we use the easy walk harness. it totally changed my dogs. they hated the halti/gentle leader and tried to scrape it off on the ground. lakshmi is still traumatized from wearing it.
the easy walk harness cannot hurt their neck if there is a sudden movement, (like a halti could), but it works even better. |

Will have to check this out. While he walks good, Champ hates
the gentle leader and like everyone else is trying to rub it off. |

Ha! This is crazy but first we tried the Gentle Leader for months didn't help! She jumped side ways if we weren't going fast enough!...lol
Purchased the Prong collar didn't help! I think she liked it pinching her neck?!
We talked to her former trainer she said try switching it up and/or get this harness... Its the same one your are talking about (w/ the Weim on the box!)....
I was going to post a question about them prior to buying it but I will buy it on the way home from work!
Are there sizes or adjustable? Ryleigh is 8 months 50lbs so she has growing to do... What size would you recommend?
I might just wait and take her up there so I can take her into the changing room to try it on!! |

it goes by neck girth.. we have the medium for Hooch and it is as small as it can get.. i believe it will fit him for quite some time since we have all that adjustability. he weighs about 35-40 lbs now and is 4 months old.
we work everyday on walking nicely, but i must warn you that now that he is used to it, it is not as effective when those squirrels go tramping by.. but it definitely helps. when we go out, the first leg or so is not so great with the pulling.. but once he is a little tired, it is fantastic.. let me know how you make out.. |
