We had our first outdoor agility trial this week and a fellow agility nut took these photos for me. Anyone else have any agility photos to share?

Nice pics! I'll put some up when I figure out how to do it, I just haven't taken the time! I'm surprised you're outside already. We're still buried in snow and ice, but it's gradually melting.

It was actually a pretty nice day, low 50's I think. The mountains are still pretty white but the snow is melted in town. It was really nice to be outside! We are headed to a trial in Boise this weekend but it is indoors.

I SO want to do this with my dogs! How old should they be again? I know their too young now, but I remember reading something that said you shouldn't do anything like this until their bones/joints have fully grown?

You can start agility right away you just shouldn't do any jumping until there ate least a year. But, there is a lot to learn as a handler and for the dog so the earlier you get started the better.

The hardest part is deciding what all do you plan to do with your dog(s). Field? Obedience? Tracking? Agility? Conformation? I could go on and on... My point is when you start training agility or anything with a group they focus on agility or whatever with out any consideration that you might be interested in x, y, z as well unless you tell them that. Then they might not know anything about x, y, z. So it is your responsibility now as a handler to plan ahead on your choice of commands and training technique to not confuse the dog(s) from one activity to another. Anyhow, that is what I find the hardest part because I want to do it all.

Agility is a lot of fun and it is a team effort. I let my wife do the agility with my girls since I do all the hunt training with them. I think it helps give her a chance to bond with them in a different way. Both of ours are still in early intermediate training and we only attempted a Novice course once with Cassi. Thats why I say I can't wait to get the chance to shoot more photos of them. I'm sure my wife will hate me when they come running to me on the side while I take there photos. During training I try to be right there while they run courses and just ignore them when they come say Hi... it's so hard because they're so cute.

Dhondt, I love the one on the right, looks like she's having a real YAH-HOO time!
WeiMe, Good luck this weekend! Let us know how you do! I'll be at a trial in Des Moines this weekend. Should be interesting since we haven't done much since the first weekend in Feb.!

Fun pics!! I wish I could have gotten a picture of my "agile" dog this weekend - he did a somersault after he biffed it chasing after his ball... poor baby!
