hi julie,
i am thinking about showing schroeder. before i got him i was definitely not going to and was actually looking for a pet dog. i ended up meeting my breeder (who is awesome) though and she sold me schroeder as a show (she only had four pups and they were all show) but with a rider on the contract saying i didn't have to show him. shroeder is my first dog and i am glad that my breeder trusted me enough with one of her pups! however, the more i've had him and the more i have talked to her, the more i think i might do it. we just wrapped up puppy kindergarten and beginning obedience is starting in a couple of weeks. i can also take a four session conformation showing class. when do you think would be a good time to start that? any general advice about showing?
i'm going to be checking out my first dog show in a couple of weeks and am rather excited as i have never been to one!
