Interestingly, I had a conversation with the owner of the daycare that we have put Callie in...she said that she tried to get Callie to nap in a crate, but for her it was also a no-go. She also thought Callie's crate reaction was over the top (massive drooling, trying to escape) and took her out pretty soon after. From now on, Callie gets to nap in an armchair in the office area--lucky girl! (or really smart, ha ha).
It was good to get validation from a 'professional' that Callie's crate behavior was not normal. We were kind of second-guessing ourselves as to whether she would 'just get used to it' in time or if there really was a bigger problem.
Also, puppy daycare has been great for Callie. You can really see a boost in her self confidence. |

i wonder what happened to trigger that? maybe something during her fear period? glad you have found a way to keep Callie and have a life, too.
ironically, last night was the first night we both slept upstairs and Hooch slept in his crate without company.. it was so terrifying.. but he didn't protest at all.. hopefully it wasn't a fluke! |
