There is still a chance to defeat this terrible bill that will end breeding in Virginia and put undue hardships on all animal owners in that state. This is just the beginning and if this passes, it will set a precedent and be introduced in other states, maybe yours is next.
Contact everyone you know in Virginia and urge them to OPPOSE this bill!

Subject: HB 538 passes Senate Agriculture Committee
Just in from our correspondent: By a lopsided 14:1 vote, HB 538,
'PAWS-Plus for Virginia' has passed the Senate Agriculture Committee.
It will be heard next in Senate Finance, quite possibly as soon as
tomorrow, Tuesday, February 26th.
In talking to Senate Finance, the approach to take is that the Fiscal
Impact statements for this bill are incorrect because they simply
assume that a few dozen good size lawful businesses will go away
quietly without any cost to the state or localities. What's actually
going to happen is a whole lot of new UNLAWFUL business, creating
substantial unbudgeted expenses, quite possibly including litigation.
With the current budget crisis, does Virginia really want to go there?
OUT OF STATE -- Please poke your in-Virginia friends for some help on
this!
