Coalie has not been eating her morning feeding for a few days now. I feed her 4 cups a day (2 cups twice a day). When do I know it is the right time to swticher her to one feeding? She's 8 months now.
Thanks in advance. |

Personally I keep it at twice a day.
Maybe she doesn't like the food much? Have you considered trying something else? Mine love Orijen and Evo (read meat bites) (I use them for training treats as well, my weim is on raw, but the little one gets homecooked mixed with those two kibbles) |

| im not a fan of 1 meal a day - just seems like asking for bloat... this from someone who lets their dogs graze, for what that may be worth. |

Storm seems to know when she is hungry and when she is not. She often does not eat her morning food. I am not a big fan of leaving it for her to graze on. But what i do is leave it for about 45 min. Normally she will nibble on it a bit when she is not so hungry. but then i pick it up and she has to wait for her dinner. Of course she gets her treats in. . I have found that she know when she is hungry though and sometimes she just is not. She is young and they go thru growing pains and etc. Some time she just is not hungry. But she is of perfect weight and health, so says the vet. i would not worry about it Much as long as we are in good health. |

I also like 2x a day...my guys start pacing and nudging awaiting their morning feeding.
They get yogurt with their kibble in the morning and chicken stock in their supper time feeding.
I am also wondering if the kibble is not preferred

Weims should be fed twice a day to help prevent bloat. I would try something different. Before we started feeding them a partial raw diet, Silkie would get bored with the same food everyday and turn up her nose.
We don't have that issue anymore....but some dogs will get tired of the same food day after day. |

Maybe she is board of it but I recently found that this food (California Natural) works best for her. Prior to this food her poops were puddly and she'd go 5-6 times a day. Now she goes twice maybe 3 times a day and it is a nicely formed poop. I really do not want to try a new food since it took me months to find one that works for her. I have been adding chicken stock to it and that seems to work. What I was wondering is, is it okay to use the chicken stock from a can? That's what I've been using just a couple teaspoons to give the kibble some flavor. Thanks again for any advice. |

I feed twice a day and we feed raw. My vet recommended switching between chicken, turkey, beef and lamb. She said if they are fed one of the same all the time, they can become allergic...
They always lick their bowls clean.

I think chicken stock is a good idea... I would just make sure you get the reduced sodium type. You could also add unsweetened applesauce, plain yogurt or even a mashed up banana that's too ripe for your taste! |
