| my 4 month old Weim (brady) is amazing when we're at home with just my husband and i or even when we're out in public he listens very well, but as soon as someone comes to visit our home he turns into hyper dog. he mouths, paws, jumps up and runs crazy around the house. We tried putting his pitch collar on and keeping him on a leash beside us. This seems to work, but we can't do this every time someone comes to the door. He isn't mean at all to anyone, just gets very excited and jumps up, mouthing them. i don't know how to teach him not to do this because he doesn't jump up on my husband and i. I thought maybe he was trying to putting alpha over them because he feels it's his turf. When I take him in public he is wonderful, only licking people that say hello and never jumping up. I let him off the leash at the park and he doesn't even seem to notice other people or dogs, focusing on me and my directions. if anyone has any tips let me know. my husband says it's because he knows it's his home and that he can be a brat, and we'll still love him. |

Get some friends to spend a day on a weekend just wearing out your doorbell  Work on how you want him to react (since someplace, etc), then do it over and over until he is numb. |
