Coalie is 7 mo. and I have yet to get just the right food for her. Anyhow - do your dogs poop 5 times a day? With the first couple poops nice and firm then the next few puddly or diarrhea? I'm trying the pumpkin but still have the same results?
Thanks in advance. |

| did you change foods recently or feeding different types of food? sometimes it takes a while for dogs to adjust to a new food, 2-3 weeks, mine poops only twice a day. |

| Can I ask what food you feed your dogs? I have been swtiching food recently but even when she was on one food, Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken for some time she still pooped the same way. I'm not sure where to go from here. She's health and all, but how often should a dog poop? |

Mine gets a bit of everything, he only gets liquid poo when I give him soup or something, but his food pretty much consists of what I call porridge/canned mix, I cook various grains, brown rice, quinoa, millet, barley, whole wheat pasta, cornmeal, oatmeal, couscous, whatevers at hand, stuff I eat myself , barley being his favorite and mix with canned innova evo 50/50, he gets a bowl of that in the morning, then I leave a cup of kibble in a seperate dish to snack on if he wishes ( right now I kinda mixed all the seperate kibbles I had in one bin, innova evo, natures variety instinct and prarie, timberwolf organics), though I'm slowly converting to grain freee completely, I think eventually I'll move to Orijen, once I'm nearing the end of this, he did well on it.
Then in the evening its raw time, again, I dont have a specific outline as to what is fed, its more supplemental for him, beef, chicken, turkey necks, chicken wings, beef bones, I also buy prepackaged meats like rabbit from pet boutiques, its mixed in with veggies.
And random foods, plain yogurt, low sodium veggie soups ( about once a week), apples, other treats, etc.
He usually poops mid day around 2-3 pm and late in the evening 11pm.
As far as solid gold, I personally havent used it myself, but it looks like a decent food, maybe he has a difficult time digesting it, have you tried probiotics? |

| I forgot to mention, have you tried foods with probiotics in them? I think canidae is one of them, I like natures variety and Orijen quite a bit. |

I feed my 6 month old Eagle Pack with pumpkin and he poops 2-3 times.
One solid poo in the morning
One solid poo in the afternoon
One soft poo in the evening after his walk (not sure why he does this)
I remember when we fed him a lower quality kibble he was pooping 5-7 times a day |

When joni was a little younger she pooped like...400 times a day. Well, at least 7.
And it was always solid, solid, soft too. It scared me. Then I switched to solid gold wolfcub and it improved a little, now I mix solid gold with purina and she actually does great.
Just a warning....
The solid gold gave her gas so bad, I had guests leave the living room one night because of the stench. |

I've switched food again and it seems to be working. I do feed Coalie the higher quality foods. She has eaten Candiae, Solid Gold, Wellness, Merrick, and I recently started giving her California Natural and WHAT A DIFFERENCE - she poops nicely formed turds and they appear to be a healthy color. I'm hoping this is the answer. Apparently this food is made for sensitive stomachs with a single protein and brown rice. I'm hoping this is the answer. Thanks everyone for your suggestions |

I tried Solid Gold too and mine had "broccoli" farts. They were horrible. They also had nice soft poo which was a joy to clean up
I am using EVO Red Meat now and they love it. No more stinky farts and nice solid poo. |

| Cooper was on solid gold and same as you, firm then runny 5-6 times a day. We switched around to a few others and recently put him on Orijin. he loves it and his poop is only 2-3 times a day - I started with giving him Orijin and pumpkin and the poos were still a bit puddly after the solid first. We took him off pumpkin and only give it to him 2-3 times a week. It has made all the difference. |
