Daisy has hit an all time low and I'm not sure I can deal with this
While I was giving the kids breakfast, she jumped on the counter and grabbed some of the mtg money to be deposited today, ate $300 dollars (can't find half of the shreds, I think she ingested them)
When you can't pay your mtg for the month, that's a big issue
Hubby is ready to find her a new home after this one |

ouch...I am SO sorry to read this. I know you feel at your wits' end with her. When Sterling got into the fight with my JRT's, I had to take my mortgage money that week and pay for vet bills...so I know how you feel!
I hope you make it through this...please remember that SHE didn't know it was money. It was pretty paper to her, and we know how much weims LOVE paper!!
You have to treat them like babies..you can't turn your back on them for ONE second if there are things lying around they aren't supposed to have, and unfortunately, most of us here have learned that lesson the hard way...ie..losing something very important! |

| Yikes!!! Holy crap!!! I agree with everyone here. I am very very careful about what I leave out or on the counters. Any food is pushed WAY back on the counter and when I'm cooking I put the baby gate up if I have to walk out of the kitchen. I just wish I could train my husband to do the same. I tell him all them time not to leave things laying around if he wants to see them tomorrow. Yesterday I was busy with Gracie and handed him a little piece of paper to hold for a sec and what does he do? Set it right on the coffee table where Duke instantly headed for it. I said "you can't just set stuff like that on the table!!!!" Grrrrr |

Beth,
Daisy needs to be crated unless she can watched like a hawk. Until she learns to behave.
I need to do this with Scout and he is almost 5. He keeps testing me. Yesterday morning he marked the shower curtain, I turned my back for one second, then while I was in the shower, he stole a pair of my underwear out of the dirty clothes..(yuck) and chewed them up and ate the Panty liner (new) that I had laid on my dresser.
The other three just laid on the bed....
I am sorry. But I am glad to see you. I was wondering where you've been. |

Me too re: where Beth's been. I'm sorry she's naughty. I / we tether Sky to her Crate w/ her leash when we can't watch her.
Lynn, Sky likes nylons (worn) for some stinky reason, YUCK! Thank god she never ate one. |

After all that Chevy has eaten... I should have gave her away months ago. But her chewing is technically my fault. You have to do something about it, and giving them away isn't the answer. Weims are VERY smart dogs, but like the others said, she couldn't tell it was money.
Chevy has destroyed THOUSANDS of dollars worth of things...
She chews everything... beds, napkins, plastic, clothes, shoes, socks, pillows, couch cushions ( Evil or Very Mad ), and she even rips off chunks of our deck. She chewed carpet, trim, our bed, the wood on the sofas, and even drywall! Yes, she ate a hole in the wall, then peeled the paint off all the way around it.
You have to put everything away, and work with her. She doesn't know that it's bad to do those things, unless you tell her. A friend of mine had a weim, and he chewed completely through a wall once.... |

| The thing is....if I can't watch my Weims constantly than they go in the crate. Duke has earned the right to have more freedom because he has shown me that he is not destructive. I used to crate him when I was in the shower, but now I don't. He has lots and lots of toys and hooves around if he gets the urge to chew. I even left him alone and out of the crate for about 7 minutes the other day while I ran to pick my husband up. I'll admit I was a bit nervous, but came home and nothing touched. Usually they follow me everywhere so it's pretty easy to keep an eye on them and like I said, if I need some time alone or have something to do when I can't watch them...it's in the crates they go. Duke has even gotten really good about counter surfing and only jumps up occasionally, but I still don't leave things on it that I would cry over if he got to them. |

Wow...ouch! Sorry to hear that Beth...
I agree with everybody, crate her until she earns the privilege to roam around. |

Yikes $300!
Everyone had great advice.
I am super-strict with puppies. I literally try to reach a goal of 100% supervision or in a crate. If I try for 100% and get it 99% of the time, then usually I am doing OK |

AW! Beth, I am so sorry!! I know how frustrating that must be and I understand how you feel right now. I'm sure those feelings will pass.
Is there anything you've been wanting to get rid of that you could sell on ebay or craigslist? ...Besides Daisy.
Where have you been lately, we missed ya! |
