I can't explain what these messages mean to me, as I sit here knowing I need to pack but instead I get on my laptop because I don't want to think about what all is happening!
My dad has COPD, s/p heart attack in 2000, diabetes, and severe sleep apnea. He was admitted to the hospital last night because he has excessive fluid everywhere on his body and his O2 stats were severely low due to the fliud on his lungs and COPD. Due to his severe sleep apnea he was having panic attacks last night and fighting the oxygen masks and the IVs. So they had to sedate him this morning and put him on a ventilator b/c his O2 levels are so bad. They needed to do this to help his body heal and they said he will be on the vent for 2-3 days. We live about 3 and 1/2 hours away and are leaving this afternoon to go down to East TX. Basically I don't know how I will handle the situation b/c I see patients like this everyday at work and well...now its my dad.
Most of all my little baby girl, Kinley, is sooooo amazingly loving and has not left my side for the past day or so b/c she knows I've been upset. I really wished we had already had her certified and tested for therapy dog and good society dog (or I forgot the title at the moment) b/c my dad adores her and would love if I could bring her in the hospital to see him, when he gets out of ICU.
I appreciate the prayers with all my heart and I know now that prayers are the only thing that can help my dad b/c God is in charge.
Thank you |

I think dogs must have a 6th sense about these things. When we got Linkin I was still morning the loss of my Rott. Link was 8 weeks old when I came home bawling with his ashes. I sat down on the floor and baby Linkin came over and sat in my lap until I was done and ready to get up. I'll never forget it... it was at that moment that I KNEW that he was going to be a great dog.
This is a bit off subject, but when my husband and I were picking out Linkin at the breeder I asked my belated dog to give me a sign to pick the right dog for us (I'm kind of weird about things like this). I'm not sure that I got the sign I was looking for. BUT - the box of ashes of my dog came in a bag with a picture of a WEIMARANER on it. How cool is that!! I had really wanted an English Bulldog but my husband vetoed it. I took the Weim on the bag and Linkin's reaction to my grief as the sign I was looking for.
Sorry for the rambling, and I'm so glad that Kinley is taking such good care of you. |

I re-read your initial post and am wondering about those bumps. Look at weimdawg's avatar, are they like that? Because that is normal?
I am sorry to hear about your father. Maybe there is someone near there that has a therapy dog? I truly believe that dogs are so good for recovery. |
