If it feels right to you, you can do it. John resisted every dog we got except Scout, in the beginning. Even his beloved Silkie. It was his idea to get a second dog but when we got the call about her, he wanted to put it off a week. That didn't happen.

He stressed about Gunnar...and of course Jake. Every one felt right to me. And I do all the work anyway. Laughing

That is a beautiful dog. As for owning/caring for multiple, I would say two are easier than one, three are four times as hard as one Very Happy Really depends on your lifestyle, with two, three it is easier to go on walks, to the park than with 4 or 5. If you can do much at home and have no problem leaving them safely (for you and them) then more is an option.

Well my other 2 aren't really needy. My 14 year old Golden pretty much just sleeps all day and wants to be left alone-the challenge is to keep the Weims away from him cause they get too rough. I usually just keep him in the garage. Our other dog is a very lazy Pug. Pugs like to sleep something like 20 hours a day. I'm hoping getting this puppy will give her a break from Duke. I'm also hoping the Weims will spend more time outside. Duke does not like being outside so this will be a challenge. I don't expect them to be outside all the time, but on a nice day there is no reason why they can't be outside. So as far as the excercise/walking thing goes it's really just the Weims that I need to worry about. Bailey (the Pug) can go with us off leash occassionally. She doesn't do well on long walks. I live in a gated community with a fantastic (rarely used) park that is somewhat secluded and I can take them there and let them run.

Just got a call from the breeder and she didn't make the flight this morning. The airline needs a Certificate of Acclimation because the temps in Salt Lake City (connecting flight) are below 40 degrees. This just sux! I get all excited, then down. Hopefully they can get that from the Vet today and get her on the later flight which will get her here tonight. So frustrating! (although I do realize that it's all for the safety of the puppy) I'm hoping they'll allow the breeder to put a nice big blanket in the crate.

Actually I'm getting a little down....I was reading about Acclimation Certs and alot of Vets won't do them. They don't want to be held liable in case something happens. We'll see......

My husband loves her to death but he gets fed up at times. She got aggressive with me this morning and I think it has a lot to do with me not being around. She only does it with me and only when I'm working long hours, this is the pattern.

I have days where I don't want to deal with her. She's like a baby right now getting up three or four times at night and she used to sleep through the night. I went back to work and it started, just like when I went back to work when my daughter went to daycare part time. Oh boy.
