So my pup has a neck issue, and the vet said that I should completely stop use of a regular collar.
I have a Sense-sation harness, but I use it only on the rare occasion because I noticed that it was rubbing off his fur. After only an hour or so of use, the fur starts losing its softness and disappearing in a small patch right where the harness touches the tops of each of his front legs.
Is this normal when using a harness? It doesn't seem to bother him at all, just me, but it makes me wonder if maybe I should look for a different type of harness because this shouldn't be happening. And I haven't found a store here that sells them to ask .. |

| When I was using a harness, it rubbed on Gracie's "armpits". So I bought some moleskin padding from the store and cut it to fit that section of the harness. It worked out well. |

| I used nylon collars and harness' and I've had the same problem. I ended up switching to Dura-Flex collars and I love them. |

WHEN I GOT THE HARNESS IT WAS RUBBING UNDER THEIR HARMPITS AND GIVING THEM BLISTERS, SO I STOPPED USING THEM I REALLY LOVED THOSE HARNESS, THE ONES THAT YOU ATTACH THE LEASH UNDER THE CHEST, THEY DIDN'T PULL AT ALL WITH THOSE...OH WELL |

My guys have beautiful mylar collars that wear the hair off on the front of their necks mostly because they pull. I haven't had an issue with the harness though. I have one nylon harness that I use mostly with Jake. When I use it, I keep it fairly snug on him. Jake is a very big weim and I like him to feel the control device. That's why I use the harness or a prong collar. |

Thanks for the input!
I like the moleskin idea. I'll try that and see how it works. |
