If you're not a breeder, and don't plan to breed him, I don't think there are any pros to keeping him intact. Except, I guess, for not having him go through the surgery.
I bought a show dog, so he couldn't be neutered until he finished; I didn't have a choice. I was literally counting down the days until he was neutered. I'm sorry to say that I did bring him to the occasional dog park during that time; I knew I didn't have to worry about him, but I never thought about the other dogs. They were much more aggressive towards him while he was intact. On his last visit before I had him neutered, he was attacked by a Great Dane and had a huge hole torn in his ear. |

cost, putting them through the surgery, and age are the real considerations that seem to come up regularly.
there are a lot of posts on this in the health section i think. |
