| Basically a shooting dog is a finished, well mannered adult stake, where a hunt test can lead up to the shooting dog. |

Are you talking about AF Shooting Dog or WCA Shooting Ratings Test? I think you are probably talking about the latter. If the latter, it depends on what level of the shoot dog test (NSD, SD or SDX), and depending on the level you may not need a finished dog, for instance NSD, Novice Shooting Dog, is pretty much like an AKC Junior Hunter test.
One main difference is that WCA Shooting tests are not AKC tests, they are for Weims only. Also you only need one pass to get the title. |

| Yes, I was talking about the Weim ratings test. That is what I didn't understand. The NSD sounded a lot like the JH. I didn't realize it was a weim specific test. Thanks |
