WE HAD THE SMAE PROBLEMS, AND WE HAD 2 PUPPIES!!!!! WE WALKED THEM ONCE A DAY, AND WASN'T ENOUGH! IF YOU WALK YOUR WEIM ONCE A DAY FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR OR TWICE A DAY, AND MAKE THEM VERY TIRED, THEY WILL BEHAVE AT THE HOUSE!!! THEY HAVE A LOT OF ENERGIES AND IF YOU DON'T LET THEM VENT OUTSIDE, THEY WILL VENT INSIDE THE HOUSE....ALL THEY NEED IS A LOT OF EXERCISE,,,TRY IT, YOU WILL START SEEING THE DIFFERENCE!!!

Do you have any off leash parks or anywhere where you can safely let them go nuts running around. It burns off way more energy than just a walk does

I let mine go on an off leash beach morning and night for a good 45 each time and the whole time they are bolting around in and out of the water
and in the car on the way home they fall asleep ( takes about 6 minutes to get to the beach) and i literally have to wake them up to come inside.

When I would take them for a 45 min walk they would come home and still want to climb the walls !!!! off leash burns up way more energy giving you a placid dog Wink

Please don't give up! I have a 5 month old and I understand where you're coming from. I did ALOT of research on the breed before I got him and I have to say that my Duke can be wild at times it is nothing that I cannot handle or did not expect. Most of the time he is very good, but in the afternoon/evening he just springs to life and literally can bounce off the walls. I have found that just throwing a tennis ball (inside or out) for 10 minutes, playing tug of war, and such can really redirect his attention. Also lots of times I grab the leash and we go for a walk. Some times he is driving my poor little Pug nutso and I'll say "where's your toy" and he immediately goes and finds and toy and "wella!" leaves the Pug alone and focuses on the toy. I'm obedience training him and sometimes we'll start a training session....anything to redirect his attention. He's just bored and full of energy and needs some attention at these times. I must say that the training is going unbelievably well and I am so impressed with him. It thrills me to no end. Keep up the training....and keep up the treat rewards. When I got my Duke he was like a wild creature....biting everything in sight and running around like a lunatic! I keep reminding myself of those days and how far he has come in a very short time. He has decided that he likes being a lover boy much better and I like it too!

Please dont give up. I got my baby from my son, and I dont know that
much and am learning every day about my Weim. The first week he was
at my house, he chewed the telephone lines going into my house. For
the longest time, I couldnt understand why I didnt have a phone. He chewed the bark of of one of my trees. After seeing some of the destruction, I started paying more attention to him, Remember I didnt
know anything about this breed. He has changed totally. I have had him
at my house for about 6 months, and he is so sweet and is not as destructive. I too had him in obedience classes and he is doing so great!
I have fixed my telephone lines and they are now weim protected. I have
also fixed my tree, the bark is growing back and we are going to be just
fine. Dont give up.
