This may sound a bit weird, and may not even apply to your situation, but it has worked for us...do you live in a neighborhood with kids? It has worked out to our advantage more than once to have the neighborhood kids play in our yard with Greta. We found it much easier to supply cookies to 4-5 kids than to supply Greta with enough of our energy after a long day at work. Of course where we live (small community in the middle of no where) we all know the kids and parents. The kids love the cookies and the puppy!! We love sitting in our lounge chairs watching them run and laugh when Greta trips over her own ears!! Laughing Granted, it's not the same as chillin' out watchin' Sportscenter when I get home...but hey...I'm not running with the dog either. (Besides, as a husband, I've been told I'm useless for the first hour after I get home anyway!) Confused

She is too aggresive though, that's my concern with Neighborhood kids. She's still biting Charlotte on occassion and she jumps on her and knocks her over. Very annoying. Of course Charlotte gets back up and wants to keep playing and I Have to let her know that jumping is not acceptable and we have to ignore sophie when she misbehaves.

Well, I got home from work. Sophie was excited but she couldn't get out of her crate until she calmed down. She did.

Let her outside, all good. She had to sit etc.

I snacked (I eat before she does, even if it's just a bite or two) and made her sit for dinner. She wouldn't sit while I scooped her food so I just put her bowl up. I took it down a few minutes later and I didn't even have to ask her to sit for scooping out her food.

Sit to eat. She ate and she did some jumping but I kept pushing her down off the counter. Made her sit again and gave her ice cubes. Then I loved on her a bit while she chewed on her ice.

I put her in her crate while I ate dinner. She did a lot of whining, but I ignored her. She's now curled up sleeping.

No drama, no biting and easy. I wonder why it's so hard when my husband and Charlotte are home. I'm not as tired today either, I went to bed at 8pm. Ouch.

Crazy.

sounds like a typical "kid" and she competes for attention when your hubby and daughter are home. Sterling is an angel...then David comes in...honestly, she just kind of minds her own business, chews on her bones, will come to me once in awhile just for a little love, but that's it...then David gets home, and she's WILD!

it IS crazy Laughing

So, Sophie stopped napping and I took her downstairs to go potty. Took her in and played with her down stairs a bit with a toy. We went upstairs and she started climbing, etc.

I dragged her off the couch which did not make her happy, she started biting my legs etc. I just grabbed her by the collar and threw her in her crate. I probably need to start doing time out though so her crate isn't punishment.

OI, I put her in her crate and she's now laying down and sleeping.

Is it okay that I call her my little bitch? (My husband is relieved, that used to be his nickname).

wanna trade for a few weeks??? Daisy decided last night to pee on my bedroom floor when my hubby made her sleep on the floor (I was REALLY sick and couldn't fight about it)
Then he made her sleep in her crate (which she did with no whining, only a few barks), but I felt awful as that was the first time since we've gotten her that she hasn't been in my bed with us.

Aw you poor thing! Daisy was mad she was kicked out of bed but it sounds like she adjusted well. My husband won't let Sophie sleep in our bed. I think it's a good idea with the defiance issues, she has to know we mean business.

I hope you are feeling better soon. Charlotte woke up at 3 am with a headache and a fever, poor baby.

I think time out is best training tool we have. A lot of the problems you and Sophie seem to be having, I am going through too. My boyfriend was just telling me yesterday to write a post asking why Jake is an angel when it is just him and Jake or just me and Jake but then he is out of control when we are all together.

Anyway, the best advise I have is to try time out. And be ready to spend a lot of time walking to and from time out. When our trainer told us about it she said she would spend hours going back and forth with her pup for a particular unwanted behavior...luckily you have a weim and weims are geniuses so it shouldn't take hours Very Happy
