Fur Kids: Used to have Sophie - Weimaraner
PostPosted: Tue Dec 18, 2007 2:53 pm    Post subject: Charlotte and Sophie stories Reply with quote

Oh, Charlotte loves her Sophie. Although my four year old keeps letting Sophie out of her crate at the wrong times and waking her when she's all nice and snuggly and sleeping.

First, we got Sophie a new cheapie crate, like a fold up tent. I opened it up and Charlotte wanted to get in it. I said no, it's for the dog. Guess what she did? She got in it and she zipped herself in. She couldn't get herself out. I told her she had to wait for Daddy to come home and let her out.

So Gary gets home about ten or fifteen minutes later and here is Sophie asleep in her crate and Charlotte curled up in the other crate. What did she do? I told him and he said, okay, well I'm going to use the bathroom and I will let her out when I'm done. Oh, Charlotte didn't cry or anything, but she really is pushing us by not lisetning, so to some it may seem rather harsh, but oh well.

WE also took the girls out to run around and Sophie loves it. She just runs full steam ahead and you think she's going to run into you and she doesn't. Well Charlotte and Sophie are running with each other and Gary and I are watching. We are quite far away and there is Sophie charging Charlotte and I'm thinking, nah, she won't run into her, she never does.

Well Sophie clips Charlotte in the behind and knocks her legs out from under her and I start to laugh. I'm such a bad mommy! It scared Charlotte and she was crying (She was fine, she just landed on her butt on the grass), but I couldn't stop laughing and I felt so bad. I thought my husband was going to disown me.

And Charlotte gets Sophie so worked up! My Goodness the two of them.

I'm right there with you. Our 5-year-old is such a drama queen. She will try to take Marley's toys out of her mouth and accidently get scratched by her teeth and flip out. You can't even see the scratches. I warned her, but she has to be a pill sometimes.
They have so much fun together, but I have to watch them close or the dog will get blamed for everything. Marley is super good, just doesn't always realize how big she is.

For me, it's my 2yo. Daisy outweighs him by almost 15lbs, and the two of them will do an alligator roll on the floor. He is so in love with Daisy, it's adorable
And you're not a bad mom, I laugh at a lot worse than that.
They form their own bond, and you have to let them (safety first, a little scared is not a safey issue)

OMG Shocked Shocked Shocked !!! It's an epidemic!!!

Nathan bugs the crap out of Kam, and ya know, Kam's still in that training phase where I don't completely trust him to NOT bite Nathan. But what can I do, besides for constantly reprimand Nathan---it's his doing, not Kam's. So, what do I go and do (this may be as a result from the goings-on at our house with "crazy dog"), I tell Nathan that if he continues this, Kam WILL bite him and if that happens, we'll have to get rid of Kam and he'll probably end up in heaven.

...and the mother of the year award goes to Embarassed !

I try to explain to her that She knows better, Sophie the dog, does not. She's, my daughter, is gonig through a pill phase, it happens every few months. So it might have more to do with rebellion, but damn, when she gets Sophie worked up, it's awful. It makes me tense.
