Oh you guys, Trust me those are not embellished or exaggerated story's what so ever. Life with Misty was never dull.

She got in trouble one time and I didn't even want to look at her I was so mad. So I tied her out at her dog house, Couldn't let her just run rampant thru the neighborhood. Well the jerk stood out there and barked and barked, So I went out and tied a burlap sack over her head to calm her down and stop the barking. Meanwhile a drunk from the local bar hits a deer RIGHT in front of my house. The deer is out in the weeds bellowing, So I call the sheriff forgetting all about her majesty out back with the sack over her head. Sheriff shows up and we go out and dispatch the poor deer, we're walking back up to the road and the sheriff stops talking mid sentence......Looking out at the poor poor abused dog in my back yard with a sack over her head like she's going to be executed......This thankfully was the same sheriff that had been out to the house a month earlier when she killed the little ankle biter dog next door. He just looked at me and said...Got in trouble again huh?

yeah she was a barrel of monkeys she was sooooo fun! Rolling Eyes So anyone saying they can't handle there dog....TRUST ME, If I survived 14+ yrs with Misty and still miss her as much as I do 8 months after she passed. There is something extraordinary about these dogs.

THANKS to each and every one of you. Your words were all I needed to get through this episode with Kaiser. I think a lot of his issues are my fault so I am making some changes. he sleeps with me now, and even though we are not doing anything, the time with me makes him happier.

I love him to death but WOW even with all the Weim research, I still got more than I bargained for.

This makes me smile.... coming from someone who was at their wit's end just a few weeks ago. These pups will test you - but they are worth it. Gotta go play in the snow now! Very Happy

I don't really post often, but I always read these threads and this one just gets me...I hate to jinx myself... but my girl has just been a joy to have around. SHe is 9 months and sure she does puppy type things, but I try really hard not to give her the opportunities to destroy things etc. I really find it hard to imagine even for one second considering getting rid of her. I would be devastated. Sometimes I think that the behavior is a direct result of how they are being trained.... but I could have just gotten really lucky and got a great dog. Who knows!

Actually every wiem is different. I have two of opposite spectrum of behavior. Ashley is so laid back you think she's dead most of the time. Steele is so full of energy she literately vibrates most of the time. Ashley rarely gets into trouble ever, Hence she is the "golden child". Steele on the other hand is constantly in trouble for raising hell. She would be the evil step sister of Ashley.

Ashley has had very limited obedience traing.

Steele has had TWO month long obedience collages.

So really it all depends on the dog mostly, Just like people. You get calm ones and hellions.

I believe it. I just am so shocked whne i see people saying their weims break out of their crates... i totally believe that it happens... but mine is so calm when I put her in. With my luck, if i ever get another one... im sure she will be the type to destroy everything around her.

Oh, she's still testing us! But things are better, she's getting more exercise and play and she's getting training, it all helps.

Thank you!
