|
|
Hi,
I just wanted to know what this behaviour ment when my 7 month old female Weimaraner eats her bone on my lap when I'm sitting in my computer chair.
There are many other things around the house that she can use to rest her bone on while she eats but for some reason she goes to me or my partner.
Is this behaviour bad & means she is trying to get dominants & I should stop her from doing it?
Please HELP! |

| Maybe she is just saying, "Hey, mom, look what I have - want to share?" Or maybe she just wants attention - especially if you are doing something else. TB will bring a toy to my lap and do the same thing. They seem to know when your attention is diverted from them - smart little Weimies! |

| Scout does this all the time. Luckily he does it after all the disgusting meat on the outside is cleaned off. I feel like it's part of the "must-be-touching-at-all-times" part of the weim characteristics. Plus he figures I might "MIGHT" actually hold it for him ;o) |

when Elbee was little he would wake me really early, then he would not go back to sleep. I was fearful of him having the house to himself so I would get a chew stick and hold it for him and he would sit on the couch next to me and gnaw at it. I guess I spoiled him as he often does it now (at 7 months) - he actually likes when I hold it for him!

| Oneof Austins favorite things is sitting over my legs and chewing a bone or toy or whatever, he just loves it. If he drops it he will look at my wife with a sad face until she picks it up for him.It is so funny |

| That's funny, i'm new to this site but the more of these forums I sent here and read the more amazed I am at how all weims are so much alike. My 2 year old weim does the exact same thing, he brings his big slobbery rubber bone over and drops it right in my lap or anyone else who might be around and just goes to gnawing on it. It get a little annoying cause his bone weighs about 2 pounds and he's always dropping it right on you toe. I wonder if other breeds of dogs are all as similar as weims are? |

OMG ! I was just fussing about Laney doing this tonight. She puts her nasty wet gooey bone on my leg while she chews it. Tonight I had this big slobbery wet spot on my pants leg. I have to say .... IF she is sitting still she pretty much is sitting on me.
She definitely likes being close ! |

| Marley does this too! Especially when it is down to the end and hard for her to hold. The other day the BF confessed that he is nice enough to hold it for her so she can chew. No wonder she is always throwing that gooey thing at me. I think they just want attention and cuddles. |
