| I'm so happy with my Daisy Mae (who will be 17wks tomorrow). She has finally gotten a useful command down pat, she knows that with one look and me saying "cage", she will stop whatever she's doing (including eating cookie crisp out of my son's breakfast bowl) and run into her crate and lay down!!! |

You and me both.... And when I got it to work in the midst of a reward like cookie crisp, I knew I was on the right track!
On a side note, it was so icy here yesterday that when I took her for a walk, she tried to pull on the leash and her legs splayed out in every direction!!! Funny
Then I let her pull me across the driveway like I was ice skating, we had so much fun! |

Riley is starting to grow up on us... last night you could tell she was starting to put things together in her little head - like, if I chew and pull at this same spot, the hole in my toy will get bigger.
Its amazing how their ability to reason starts to show up... maybe reason is a strong word, but association actions and reactions... ie, when mom yells cage, i get there, or my butt is in trouble.
glad to hear she is listening... whether she likes it or not.
mmmm.... cookie crisp. |

OOh that's awesome!
Luna doesn't always listen to "kennel up" the first time... but she does most of the time (especially when it involes a treat) |

| I don't do treat rewards for "Cage" with my dogs, that's like sending the kids to their room |

She gets the runs from treats (other than ice) |

I like the one word command. We tell Linkin "go in your house" and he is finally doing it. It literally took him until he was 3.5 months old to go in there own his own. He used to sit at the top of the stairs and refuse to move - even though he knew exactly what we wanted him to do. Now when we say it he runs in as fast as he can because he knows he will get a piece of his favorite treat.
I think I will just say "house" now and start doing it at random times, not just at bedtime and when we are leaving. Great idea Beth! |

We tell Kam "go to bed" and he listens to that (most of the time ). I'd rather it be a different command, but that's what he was trained with when we got him. |
