| I lost Clyda in May, she was a six year old weim with Lymphoma. She fought the cancer with every thing she had, we survived 17 months after getting an intial prognosis of six months at the most. She was my best friend and I miss her so much every day. She was such a funny, sweet dog and touched the lives of many people including all of the people who worked with her during her many treatments. Because of her I am involved with the weim rescue of the south, we adopted a male weim in July and I know Clyda had picked him out especially for me. He came into the rescue the month we got the news about Clyda's lymphoma. I just wanted to post a little bit about her because she meant so much to me and my husband. Clyda I miss you so much, but I am doing the work you wanted me to do helping other weims who need good homes. Thanks for letting me post, tomorrow would have been Clyda's 7th birthday. |

Happy Birthday Clyda
We had hoped our Lola would have had Lymphoma... would have given us a few extra months with her.
We know how hard and bittersweet it can be knowing that your time together is so limited.
Would love to see pictures and hear stories about her...
All our love to Clyda on her birthday, and every day.
Chris & Karen
ps- would love to see a photo of your IG too... my folks have 2 of them, ages 13 and 7.

I love IG's.....There is a huge Greyhoung Rescue in Philly that has theie own on site vet. They do a lot of dental work so we took Jake there when we got him to get his teeth taken care of.
They had just gotten in two puppies...one was blue. With a little imagination, he looked like a mini blue weim. John wanted to take him home. |

Tonia,
I visited the website for Weim Rescue of the South. You guys sure have your work cut out for you.....and how could someone give up Amos
And the blue puppy...darn, I can't remember his name now...his sister is Lily......they are both so sweet; with natural tails, too.
Keep up the good work!!!!

| A volunteer and I drove to Alabama to pick up Lily and Lucas, they are in homes in TN, Lucas was so adorable, if I had room I would definitely had taken him, he is going to be huge! They both have such personality. Lucas is still available for adoption, he is in a foster home. It is amazing to me how people can treat these dogs, it is just horrible. My Presley had been hit by a car and his leg was broken in three places, the owners gave him to Animal Control to be euthanized, thank goodness they called the rescue and she came to get him and the rescue had his leg fixed, he barely has a scar now, they had to put a plate in his leg. He is such a sweet dog, I just cannot imagine how somebody could just throw him away. I am so blessed to have him. Thank you for checking out the website, if anyone might be interested in any of our dogs please feel out an application. Thanks! |

I hear some of the most heartbreaking stories doing rescue...sometimes I think it may kill me.
I really don't have the emotional fortitude to be doing rescue...I cry A LOT. I know there are times my husband wishes I would quit but the pluses far outweigh the minuses. If I get one dog out of a shelter and into a foster or forever home it is worth all the tears |
