my dog seems to have some weird lumps under his skin on the neck/chest area, its hard to explain, you can pull the skin away and theyre not attached to insides, just the inside of the skin, they feel like fatty deposits, he also used to scratch that area due to allergies, but now that we got it under control, he doesent anymore, but its still lumpy.
anyone have any idea? |

Yep, Those are fatty tumors. Wiems are very susceptible to them. Sometimes they go away, sometimes not. I would NOT recommend surgery for them unless they cause a problem.
My present one has just one small one, My last wiem had a lot later in life, I had surgery on them. AND I regreted it badly. Needless pain for something non life threatening. |

| Sounds like fatty tumors but I'd get them checked out, sometimes MCTs are like fatty tumors |

| I think theyre getting smaller? is that possible, I recently started him on a phytonutrient green food supplement which is excellent and was reccomended to me by a holistic vet, maybe its doing something, I dont know, either way I'm glad. |

zoe had these last year.
they were on her left front leg - above the elbow, and her chest.
they were in the skin - very thin, but about as wide across as a pencil eraser or smaller - mostly smaller.
we did a needle biopsy and they were sketchy, but likely nothing.
a few scary days.
put her on antibiotics as a precaution.
anyway, they went away after about a week or two.
perhaps an allergy thing???
that was our experience. |

| Kinley, 8 weeks old, has a small one on her left side of her face/cheek. She went to the vet on Monday and he measured it and said it could be where a litter mate bit her and it formed or maybe a fatty tumor. He said we should just monitor the size and if it grows he will address it. He didn't seem to worried. |

| I know this is old but I was just reading this for the first time. My 8 year old Weim has fatty cysts EVERYWHERE. He is sooo lumpy, he's had them for years. We had a few checked by the vet when he first started getting them, no he has tons. The vet said to just leave them, he said a lot of dogs get them but you can't notice them because of the fur. Since weims have short fur you can see/feel them more. I wouldn't worry about them if they are not bothering your dog. I know Newman doesn't get bothered by them at all. |

| Reagan had something similar that she ended up scratching to where they made them scab up. Our vet gave us some vitamin E type tablets to help keep her skin less dry... |

Jake is amazingly not lumpy for a dog is age. But he does have a few lumps but they are not very big. He has a lump on one of his hind legs and a skin tag under his chin that grows and falls off and grows back again.
I think my Scout is going to be very lumpy. We have already had to have a warty looking thing removed from his belly just below his chest.
If they don't seem to bother them and are not growing too large, I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep an eye on them. |
