Why does my dog do this?!

How come when I let my puppy out during the day to potty he won't leave the deck unless I come with him, but once it's dark outside he is constantly telling me he wants to go out (when he doesn't have to potty). Once he's outside all he does is play and run around by himself. The reason this is a problem is because he goes to places where I can't see him and then he IGNORES me when I call him. During the daytime when I can see him he always comes running when I call him. Aahhh... this is driving me crazy. Last night I got so fed up with it I started putting his leash on him to take him out.

We do have lots of rabbits in our yard, and I'm sure they come out more at night, but I always see them outside during the daytime too. So I'm not sure if this is the reason why. Is he trying to sneak up on them in the dark or something? Does he think different rules apply at night? He's only 13 weeks old! He's been soooo good up until this...I guess it's our first puppy issue.

We have a fenced in yard, but the rabbits still find their way in and out. I'm worried that he will find one and chase it and somehow get out of the fence while following it, because he's still pretty small.

Sorry Sky was the same way, that she would pee on the concrete patio if I didn't walk out to the yard with her. You kinda have to go out with him, until he learns he can go on his own.
