Hi, did anyone experience this?

My 20 month old male weim Archie woke me up this morning at 4.30 wanting to go outside, I let him, waited until he returned and was hoping to go back to bed, then I saw that his whole body jolts in about one minute intervals, like spasms that were moving down his spine, he also looked spooked or alert and didn't respond to our voices as usual and did not want to settle down. I woke up my husband and we decided to drive to the animal emergency hospital. As we sat in the car all these spasms disappeared and Archie seemed OK. So we returned home. He started to fall asleep and the spasms reappeared, this time through his front part of the body and front legs and paws. They were much milder but more frequent then the first time. He slept for about 2 hours and then woke up fine.

He seems OK again, happy and bouncy as always, but I was pretty scared.
Any idea?

Sounds like a reaction to pain. Maybe a bellyache??? If it happens again, I would make him an appointment to see the vet.

I have seen this with my Scout.

Hope he feels better.

It sounds like a seizure to me. Were his eyes rolling back?

Sounds like a seizure to me too. Most seizures are idiopathic. There is treatment available but most vets don't treat unless it gets bad. I have heard that Vit B supplementation can help. I also know of a Weim person who has eliminated all seizures from feeding a natural diet.
