OK to start with both my Weims are totaly potty trained and have not had an accident in the house in ages.
So about 1 week ago I was up late watching telly and they had decided it was way past there bed time and had taken themselves off to my bed, then as I was making noise about 2 hours later they both woke up and came out to see what was going on and thats when I noticed that someone had pee'd on the bed but who I didn't know.
Then today I was watching telly laying on the couch with a quilt over me and my girl Roxy was asleep at the other end under the quilt too.
When I got up she was still asleep but woke as I got up and she had pee'd in her sleep a lot too!!!!
Even though I have only had her about 10 weeks (she is 7 months) this is very weird? she was spayed when she came to me could this have something to do with it. She seems to be in perfect health otherwise.
Its Friday night here and the vets are closed till monday.
I give them yoghurt on a daily basis. |

I've been doing some surfing and "maybe" it could be hormonal incontinence due to being spayed? that what it sounds like from the websites I looked at anyway???? need to find a vet open tomorrow, combine that with my daughters 7th birthday party tomorrow as well
Gosh if it don't rain it pours!!! |

It's certainly isn't a training issue. Maybe a UTI???? I have heard of a thing called spay incontinence where something happens during a spay that causes it. I think it can be corrected with surgery.
Your vet should have some answers for you. Poor baby. I hope it gets better. BTW: DON'T wash the comforter....it will be ruined. Take it to the dry cleaners. |

it sounds like spay incontinence, but i would definitely take your dog to the vet to rule out uti, etc.
i have washed my down comforters many times, since my old dog ziggy had spay incontinence, and needed her dose of meds upped as she got older. my down comforters survived fine. use delicate cycle, cold or warm. i did get special detergent from the company store, but in a pinch used my regular soap.
hope you get this figured out soon! |

Just an update,
My daughter Alaska gave me permission to leave her seventh birthday party and drive to a vet first thing Saturday morning and he "ruled" out a UTI though I still need to bring a sample in first thing Monday as she had no temperature and the fact that she stayed asleep while urinating meant that she was in no pain. He definatly thought it was Incontinance due to being spayed so she is now on
STILBESTROL for a week and as I got on to it early he felt she should respond well to the medication and there have been no more "accidents" so fingers crossed........
Wish me luck catching the wee tomorrow |

Oh and I ended up washing the comforter as the smell was a bit wiffy and thank gosh they were ok.
And we now have couch cushions again. It was quite funny having lots of parents turn up to drop children off for the party and here I was with no cushions on the couch so nobody could sit down and beds stripped, mattress out in the sun drying and a laundry pilled high with washing. And then after half an hour I leave !
Oh well maybe next year I'll be there!!! |

I hope you have it figured out. And I'm glad I was wrong about the comforter. That's why I never bought a feather down one, because I didn't think you could wash them.
Going shopping....... |
