We brought home our new boy today! We rescued a 1 yr old and he and our 7 month old female have had the best day. From what we know he was from a puppy mill and "adopted" by a family that didn't understand Weims. They kept him in a crate and then on a chain outside, but they said he was too wild to keep. They wanted him euthanized but thankfully Louisville Weim rescue got to him first. He didn't know how to be a dog.
A huge thank you to Christina on this forum She told me who to contact and we got the paperwork finished and he is ours now. I take him on Thursday to be neutered and chipped. But he and our Abby have been wonderful today. They played all afternoon, my son cleaned out an old igloo cooler and made it a dog trough for the patio. We have had no aggression or jealousy problems. A great start.
I know we'll see problems, and I'll shake my head and wonder what I was thinking, but today was great. |

Awwww, I am so happy for you and him. We got 7 month old Silkie when Scout was 1 year old so you have the same age difference.
It was the best thing we ever did. She beat him up a few times and still pushes the boys around but we love her to death. Our Evil Bitch....
