So it's meds and special food and yada, yada, yada for a while! I hope he perks up soon, he's so mopey...I hate it...I like the wild side of the weim! |
Schatze had this a few months ago...
Hers was brought on my the Canidae ingredient change. Have you guys changed his food recently or are you feeding Canidae? Just a thought. |

| Thanks for all your thoughts guys! The first couple of days were rough with him not being able to have food or water, but he is back to 100% now! We even went for a walk tonight and he heeled so well I thought I had the wrong dog! We have to go in for a check up next week, but I am sure everything will be fine. |

| Kas had his check up yesterday. It was good and bad. His pancreatitis is gone...the Amylase was down from 2000 something to 300 something. He had to have a urine recheck and it was okay. He has a yeast infection in his left ear. She weighed him because he didn't get weighed at his last visit because they weren't sure why he was vomiting and they didn't want him around the other dogs. He has lost 13 lbs since July...very strange...we exercised a lot this summer, but his appetite was good...and I fed him more. So I am trying to beef him back up...I never knew having a dog could be this stressful at times, but I wouldn't change it for the world, cuz I love my boy! |

Good thing he's doing better! Hopefully the weight loss isn't anything to worry about. Must be a relief for you that the pancreatitis is ok.

poor Kasper boy!! I hope he feels better soon.. a sick weimy is not a fun weimy! Glad his pancreatits is under check.. if it's not one thing it's another eh?!
With the weight loss.. Ruby lost almost 4 kgs (9 pounds) from her gastro and not eating for 3 days. I would think that not eating would have a big part on it - it's amazing how quickly they lose weight when they stop food intake! |

Was reading about Kaspers weightloss....Zane was like that during the summer months, he would loose weight, and then start putting on weight early fall and into winter. Just keep a journal of it. We do that even with Wyatt. We also go into the vet when we pick up dog food and have Wyatt weighed.. its nice they have their big scale right out in the front lobby next to their hydrotherapy room.
I am so happy that Kasper is doing better!
Hugs, and slobbers..
