Hey guys

As you may or may not know I brought home a 3 year old female foster last week. She and Haus will be playing and all of a sudden they will be in a fight. No serious injuries, and I can break it up verbally, but should I be concerned? Haus does have a couple of very minor bites. He outweighs her by forty pounds, but he is very sweet and never tries to hurt her. The funny thing is they are not fighting over anything like food or toys. I don't even let them have toys or chewies. I feed her in the crate and she sleeps in the crate. Most of the time they seem to get along really well. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Shirley and Haus

If it gets too rough for YOUR comfort, then break it up. Otherwise, they're either playing, or standing their ground. I wouldn't worry unless it gets too rough - use your own judgement!!!

Congrats on fostering Very Happy

I'm thinking that they are determining pack order amongst themselves.

Is anyone getting hurt? Are they actually "fights? where someone would get hurt? Will one of them back down if they are left to work it out themselves?

Go to the the "Help With Training Issues" I am having the same type problem and I love all 3 of my babies so I am at the end of my rope almost. I just got Duke in July and I don't want to have to give him up. anyway this is my post from the other thread.

I have three boys. When all of a sudden they will start fighting for no apparent reason. No serious injuries yet but a couple of times the skin has been broken, and I can break it up with a squirt bottle. It is a different one starting the fights, sometimes Sam then maybe Duke and this past two days its been Bullet. They are not fighting over anything like food or toys, just walking by can trigger a fight. Most of the time they seem to get along really well.

Sheri,

Are all three of your males neutered? At what ages were they neutered?

The Weimaraner breed does have problems with male to male aggression.

All three are neutered. Duke right after we got him, he was 4-5 not sure of age we rescued him. Sam at age 1 and Bullet at about 6 months.

I haven't let them continue once they start. Haus has had some minor skin breaks. Haus always seems to be the one who gets upset. He seems like his feelings are hurt. Does that make sense? The scuffles always seem to start when they are playing. Maybe he gets too rough with her and she is telling him to back off? I just don't want anyone to get hurt.
