| OK Gus has some red itchy bumpy feet. This has been going on for a couple of days. I gave him some benidril last night to help with the itching, that seemed to help. Just wondered if anyone else has had this and what it may be...Thanks in advance for any help.... |

| Sounds like it could be possible allergies to me to something outside. Our girl has horrible allergies and is allergies to several kinds of grass so we deal with this quite often. If it's just his feet, I would suggest a couple of things, wiping his paws off with cool water after he comes in and trying a tbs of local honey each day. |

| Hmm, has he been to any places where the lawn may have been recently treated with fertilizer/week killer? This is the time of year when lawns are being treated. |

Any places he has wlaked outside of your yard too? He could have gotten something somewhere maybe.
Otherwise the yeast in his diet could do that and you might try either a holistic food with healthy grains ( not sure what you feed but if it has corn in it or wheat yuck) you want to look for barley, brown rice or oatmeal usually if anything...
If you are already feeding a good grained food then you might go to a grain free or the best of the best would be raw....takes the yeast form his body and takes care of those itchies real well.
Good grained:
California Natural
Innova
Eagle Pack Holistic select
Merrick
Prairie
Wellness
Grain free:
Evo
Wellness core
Merrick before grain dry
Natures Variety instinct
Raw , there are easy pre-made meals to feed such as raw. Also even just increasing your raw by 25% into a good healhty dry makes a huge improvement ( however most will tell you to not feed at the same time, I suggest you tlak to a nutritionist, someone who knows raw at a holistic store or something and do your own research too). |

| Wrench, I still have him on Cannidae All Life Stages. He has had no issues with this till now so I would not think this is the problem. |

I would just start by wiping his feet after he's been outside and see if that helps. Maybe for long outings, a pair of boots (I know ) might be beneficial! I wouldn't assume it's his food just yet - although they can develop allergies to something that never bothered them before. It's much easier to assume it's some sort of contact allergy right now, then take it from there ! |

| Bailey always has red itchy feet!!! The vet said it is a sign of chronic allergies....he also gets it in his ears. When they look really bad, I will put nystatin cream on them at night and wash with malaseb shampoo. |

1 mg/1lb of body weight.
Licking feet = allergies, or nervous habit. |

| Thanks! It's a new thing she has just started recently and she actually seems very calm, so I am thinking it is allergies. Any idea if it can be thryoid related? In the past, she has had toruble with rashes, which a thryoid test revealed were from a low thyroid. If the foot thing can be a result of that, I should probably take her back in to see if her meds need to be adjusted. She has now successfully licked her way to a small open sore on top of her paw. Put some Virex on it...perhaps some antibiotics, too? |
